Our Mobility programme is designed for structural rebalance, from soothing away aches and pains and reducing inflammation to working on more complex issues relating to mobility, such as disorders of the nervous system.
ABOUT THE MOBILI-T PROGRAMME
A multi-disciplinary approach is of particular importance when it comes to movement and structural alignment, alongside anti-inflammatory and nervous system support. Our teams innovative and person specific expertise is combined in our Mobility programme.
Joint health and mobility are often taken for granted until they become compromised. This can be for a number of reasons such as a physical injury, wear & tear, or arthritis where inflammatory pathways in the body are activated and pain is associated. Nervous system disorders can equally affect mobility, where damage to nerve cells causes a lack of communication to muscles.
For any mobility issues it is important to address the internal inflammatory and/or nerve processes involved, as well as looking at the structural rebalance required through physical therapy.
Our Mobility plan comprises a combined approach using:
1. NUTRITIONAL THERAPY
To ensure all nutrients are provided to support a healthy nervous system and examine how diet can be adjusted to activate anti-inflammatory pathways, whilst down-regulating pro-inflammatory pathways.
2. THE BOWEN TECHNIQUE
A course of 3 gentle yet effective physical treatments. This treatment works on the structural balance of the body, aiming to relieve tensions in the soft tissues of the body. The ‘whole body’ is treated as well as the presenting aches and pains, as the body is interconnected and issues in one area of the body can cause or be caused by issues in other areas of the body.
Firstly, using Nutritional Therapy we explore dietary and lifestyle elements that may be exacerbating any condition relating to impaired mobility. The consultation provides an education into how nutrition can be used to relieve symptoms and address the root cause of the issue. This isn't just about the 'perfect' diet and excluding food groups, it's about additions of certain foods that can help increase mobility and alleviate pain. After your consultation, a personalised wellness plan is created, which will summarise discussions from the session and detail recommended changes. This will be provided within 48 hours of the consultation.
Secondly, The Bowen Technique is employed as a gentle yet effective physical therapy, during which we work on releasing tension to allow any structural realignment that may be required. The treatment is adapted to the individuals requirements to allow overall balance of the body, relieving aches, pains and tension and allowing the body to recover from injury, over-use or misalignment.
The three Bowen Technique sessions should be taken weekly to allow enough time for gentle readjustment between each session, yet close enough together to allow the therapist to progress each treatment to maximise the benefit from the course of treatment.
This combination of Nutritional Therapy and Bowen Technique provides a very effective treatment programme for both short and long term improvements to joint health and mobility.
